The New Jersey plant is a 65 MW combined cycle dual fuel facility. The plant began commercial operations in 1989 and sold power to Jersey Central Power and Light until 2005.

Power produced at the plant is sold to PJM, the operator of the New Jersey electrical grid. The plant is run on natural gas and is being converted to utilize biodiesel as a third fuel.
